Here’s what we know…
President Biden’s White House press secretary Jen Psaki has just alerted media sources that she has contracted COVID-19 and is suffering from mild symptoms associated with the virus.
According to the Post Gazette, Psaki, who is 42-years-old, last met with President Biden on Tuesday at the White House. Psaki claimed that her and Biden were six feet apart from each other and were masked. Furthermore, President Biden tested negative for COVID-19 on Saturday.
Psaki canceled plans to travel with Biden to Europe last minute after learning that family members in her household tested positive for the coronavirus.
After learning about her diagnosis, Psaki stated, “Since then, I have quarantined and tested negative (via PCR) for COVID on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. However, today, I tested positive for COVID.”
“While I have not had close contact in person with the President or senior members of the White House staff since Wednesday – and tested negative for four days after that last contact — I am disclosing today’s positive test out of an abundance of transparency,” Psaki explained.
It’s important to mention that Psaki was fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and it is currently unclear whether or not she has contracted the omicron variant strain.
