Insane: Media Blames Trump For What Now?

The mainstream media is out control and downright crazy.

In a controversial move that’s sparking outrage, the UK’s Sky News is being slammed by critics for politicizing a deadly natural disaster. After a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on Friday—leaving over 1,000 dead and countless more injured—Sky News published a report attempting to link the devastation to President Donald Trump and his administration’s efficiency reforms.

The earthquake, which rocked regions near Mandalay and sent shockwaves as far as Bangkok, leveled buildings and caused widespread destruction. Rescue teams continued working around the clock on Saturday, searching for survivors beneath the rubble.

But instead of focusing on the humanitarian crisis, Sky News correspondent Dominic Waghorn released an article suggesting that reforms made by Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) had somehow made the tragedy worse. The piece criticized Trump’s efforts to restructure the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), claiming those reforms hampered global aid delivery.

Waghorn went so far as to say: “The Myanmar quake is the first major disaster to suffer the brunt of Donald Trump’s devastating cuts.”

The article accused the Trump administration of dismantling aid operations by reducing bureaucracy and eliminating waste within USAID—an agency long criticized for inefficiency and bloated spending.

But Americans aren’t buying it.

Conservatives and everyday taxpayers are pushing back, blasting Sky News for using a humanitarian crisis to take a cheap political shot. Many are asking: Why is a British news outlet blaming President Trump for a natural disaster in Asia?

“Typical liberal media spin,” one user commented. “They’ll blame Trump for the weather if they can.”

Adding fuel to the fire, a federal judge recently issued a temporary injunction against DOGE’s efforts to shut down USAID, suggesting the move may have raised constitutional questions. However, the Trump administration maintains its actions are both lawful and necessary to cut government waste and protect taxpayer dollars.

Despite media criticism, President Trump has already pledged targeted aid for Myanmar—proof, supporters say, that America remains a generous and compassionate leader on the world stage, even while fixing broken institutions at home.

As conservative Americans know, it’s possible to support global relief efforts while also demanding accountability and efficiency from our own government. The real question is: Why doesn’t the media ever seem to recognize that?
