Can we expect Romney to change?
In a controversial new interview with CNN, Republican Sen. Mitt Romney has just admitted that he has not made a decision about whether or not he will vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson so she can serve on the Supreme Court of the United States.
What is interesting about this story is that just last year Romney voted AGAINST confirming Jackson to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
According to White House Wire, If Romney votes to confirm her now it would be a very bold statement and big fat middle finger to his own Republican party.
When asked about what Romney will do this time, he said he would take a “much deeper dive than … during the prior evaluation.”
“I’ll complete that analysis and then reach a decision,” Romney explained.
Sadly, even if every Republican Senator votes against Ketanji Brown Jackson the Democrats could simply all vote in favor of her and Vice President Kamala Harris could be the tie breaker.
The Republicans need all members in the GOP to vote against Jackson and someone else in the Democratic Party to vote with them as well. Romney could destroy the GOP’s plans if he chooses to vote in favor of Jackson.
