Newsom Trashes Trump’s US Military

Newsom is losing his mind and he’s taking it out on the military over a small mistake.

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) is sparking outrage once again — this time accusing President Trump’s military of “reckless” behavior after a Marine Corps live-fire exercise allegedly damaged a California Highway Patrol vehicle near Camp Pendleton.

The event, marking the Marines’ 250th birthday celebration, was attended by Vice President J.D. Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. According to reports, a CHP vehicle traveling on Interstate 5 was struck by metal fragments from an artillery shell fired during the demonstration. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Newsom immediately blasted the Trump administration on X, writing:

“We love our Marines and owe them gratitude, but next time the Vice President and the White House shouldn’t be so reckless with people’s lives for their vanity projects.”

The CHP acknowledged the incident, describing it as both “unusual and troubling.” CHP Border Division Chief Tony Coronado emphasized that it’s “extremely rare for live-fire or explosive training to take place anywhere near an active highway.”

Before the event, Newsom ordered a temporary highway closure, claiming the Trump administration was “using our military to intimidate people they disagree with.” His office later doubled down, accusing the White House of “misleading Californians about the live munitions” being fired over the freeway.

Meanwhile, the I Marine Expeditionary Force and Navy’s Third Fleet, who organized the drill, defended the exercise as safe and carefully planned. “The demonstration went through rigorous safety evaluations and multiple layers of oversight,” the Marines said, adding that firing was suspended immediately once the incident occurred.

A White House spokesperson countered, saying the Marines “repeatedly assured there were no public safety concerns.”

Still, Newsom’s team insists the administration owes Americans an apology — a claim many conservatives see as another attempt by the California governor to score political points at the expense of the U.S. military.

For many Americans, Newsom’s comments are being viewed as yet another sign of the widening rift between California’s liberal leadership and the patriotic values President Trump has restored to America’s armed forces.
