This video has taken the internet by storm. Are the Democrats really going to try this?
As the Democratic Party faces mounting turmoil, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is seizing the moment — teaming up with self-proclaimed socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., to launch their “Fighting Oligarchy” national tour. Many Americans are asking: Is AOC secretly preparing for a 2028 presidential run?
Ocasio-Cortez Sparks Presidential Rumors with “We Are One” Rallying Cry
AOC’s campaign account recently posted a slick video on X (formerly Twitter), fueling fresh rumors about her national ambitions. On a campaign-style stage in Idaho — far from the streets of her native Bronx — Ocasio-Cortez proclaimed, “We are one.”
“To be welcomed here, seeing our common cause — this is what America is about,” she told the crowd, framing her progressive agenda as a unifying message. But critics argue her vision is dangerously out of touch with the values of middle America.

Pollsters Point to AOC as Democrats’ Top 2028 Contender
According to FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver, Ocasio-Cortez is currently the top pick to lead the Democratic ticket in 2028.
Silver and political analyst Galen Druke pointed to her “broad appeal” among younger, far-left Democrats — a worrying sign for moderate voters who still value American freedom over government control.
Political reporter Eric Daugherty didn’t mince words: “Get ready, America. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will almost undoubtedly run for president in 2028.”
Democratic Party Leadership in Crisis
Meanwhile, back home in New York, the fractures within the Democratic Party are widening. A Siena College poll shows Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s favorability sinking to a dismal 39%, while Ocasio-Cortez’s approval among New York voters has climbed to 47%.
The backlash is growing after Schumer’s support for a bipartisan budget deal championed by President Donald Trump — a move that enraged progressive activists.
Adding fuel to the fire, DNC Vice Chair David Hogg is under scrutiny after directing $20 million toward electing radical young Democrats to safe blue districts — a move seen as sidelining seasoned party leadership.
AOC’s Record Fundraising Signals Trouble Ahead
Despite her controversial positions, AOC’s fundraising machine is thriving. Over the past three months, her campaign raked in an eye-popping $9.6 million from 266,000 small donors — a clear sign the far-left wing of the party is gaining power.
Grateful for the support, Ocasio-Cortez posted on social media, thanking her followers for helping “organize communities at record scale.”
Experts Warn: AOC’s Agenda Is Out of Step with American Values
Republican strategist Colin Reed cautioned conservatives not to underestimate AOC’s ambitions — but made it clear her radical ideas would never appeal to the heart of America.
“Americans don’t want European-style socialism,” Reed said. “This country was founded on escaping oppressive government — not embracing it.”
He added, “While a sliver of the Democratic base may cheer her on, the majority of hardworking Americans believe in personal freedom, limited government, and opportunity — not government handouts and mandates.”
Hypocrisy on Display: Climate Warriors Tour the Country by Private Jet
As Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders jetset across the nation preaching about climate change, their actions tell a different story.
Traveling in private jets — spewing massive amounts of carbon emissions — they expose the glaring double standard that so many Americans are sick of.
“That level of hypocrisy is hard for everyday Americans to stomach,” Reed said. “It’s a perfect symbol of the liberal elite: demanding others sacrifice while they live by a different set of rules.”
Democratic Party Faces Uncertain Future
With President Trump’s recent victories bolstering conservative momentum, the Democratic Party remains trapped in chaos.
Without a clear leader, figures like Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders are stepping into the vacuum — dragging the party further to the left and alienating middle America.
In the end, as Americans look ahead to 2028, one thing is clear: the battle for the soul of the Democratic Party is far from over — and the stakes for American values have never been higher.
