Sanders is losing his mind.
LOS ANGELES, CA — President Donald J. Trump has ordered 2,000 National Guard troops to the Los Angeles area after violent protests erupted in response to recent immigration enforcement actions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The move comes amid growing concern about rising crime, illegal immigration, and what many see as a complete breakdown of law and order in Democrat-run cities.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the deployment was in direct response to “violent mobs” targeting federal law enforcement agents carrying out standard deportation operations. “These agents were attacked while enforcing basic immigration laws. This is unacceptable,” Leavitt said.
She added, “These operations are essential to halting and reversing the ongoing invasion of illegal criminals into the United States. California’s Democrat leaders have abandoned their duty to protect law-abiding citizens. President Trump is stepping in to restore peace and public safety.”
The announcement drew immediate criticism from far-left lawmakers. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) accused the President of acting without authority, saying, “He does not believe in the Constitution or the rule of law.” Sanders also claimed California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass never requested National Guard assistance.
But President Trump defended the decision, pointing to what he described as “complete lawlessness” in major California cities. “When local officials refuse to act, I will,” Trump stated. “We will not allow violent mobs to terrorize our citizens and attack federal officers.”
Democrats quickly pushed back. Governor Newsom labeled the deployment “inflammatory” and warned it could “erode public trust.” Congresswoman Nanette Barragán (D-CA) echoed those claims, saying the presence of troops “will escalate the situation.”
Critics say these objections highlight a deeper problem: Democrat leaders continue to prioritize the comfort of illegal immigrants over the safety of U.S. citizens. Supporters of Trump’s move say it’s long overdue.
“President Trump is doing what weak, progressive politicians refuse to do — enforce the law, protect American families, and defend our borders,” said a retired ICE agent in response to the deployment.
