Is Pelosi trying to stir up controversy in the GOP?
In a surprising turn of events, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi lashed out at House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and called him inconsistent after she learned about the leaked audio between him and Liz Cheney plotting to get Trump out of the White House.
According to the Washington Examiner, Pelosi slammed McCarthy and said, “It was interesting to me that the leader talked about the concern that he had, that he was concerned about his members causing danger here, and at the same time, complaining that we had magnetometers here to keep guns off the floor of the House. It just seemed inconsistent to me.”
Pelosi then said, “Especially now that one of his members was seen taking a gun into an airport.” Pelosi was referring to Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn after a loaded gun was found in one of his carry-on bags at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
After the January 6th Capitol protest, Magnetometers were installed near the entrance to the House floor to ensure further security. Certain Republicans including Kevin McCarthy have fought back against the decision.
