Pelosi Spreading Trump Lies

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is once again attacking President Donald Trump, this time questioning his mental fitness—despite admitting she barely watched his recent address to the nation.

In an interview with ABC News, Pelosi claimed that President Trump’s speech last week demonstrated what she described as “mental incapacity.” Speaking with host Jonathan Karl on the Sunday program This Week, Pelosi said she did not watch the full address and insisted she had “had enough” of the president.

When pressed to explain her remarks, Pelosi dismissed the speech outright, calling it “ridiculous.” She also claimed to be offended by comments Trump made involving actor Rob Reiner and others following a recent tragedy. Pelosi went further, suggesting there was “something wrong” not only with Trump, but also with those around him for failing to intervene.

Trump Highlights Economic Turnaround

During the nationally televised address, President Trump emphasized what he described as a rapid turnaround for the country, saying he pulled America back from “the brink of ruin” in less than a year. He criticized Democratic leadership, pointed to renewed American strength on the world stage, and highlighted economic momentum under his administration.

As expected, reactions to the speech largely split along partisan lines. Democrats focused on selective polling about economic concerns, while Trump supporters pointed to job growth, energy independence, and a tougher stance on foreign adversaries.

White House Fires Back

The White House did not mince words in its response to Pelosi’s comments. In a statement to Fox News Digital, spokesperson Davis Ingle accused Pelosi of lashing out out of political frustration.

He argued that Pelosi’s legacy would not be defined by her rhetoric, but by years in Washington that coincided with ballooning national debt and controversial stock trading practices that enriched members of Congress and their families.

Political Hypocrisy Draws Scrutiny

Pelosi’s remarks about Trump’s mental fitness have raised eyebrows, especially given her recent role in pressuring President Joe Biden to step aside during the 2024 election cycle.

Before Biden’s widely criticized debate performance against Trump last summer, Pelosi had been one of his most vocal defenders, repeatedly insisting he was mentally sharp and fully capable of serving another term.

According to reporting by political author Chris Whipple, Pelosi privately acknowledged to a friend that Biden had “lost a step,” even as she publicly attacked media reports raising concerns about his condition. Earlier that same year, she praised Biden as “very sharp” and “always on the ball.”

After Biden’s debate performance, Pelosi’s carefully worded comments on Morning Joe signaled a clear shift. Biden ultimately withdrew from the race, and reports indicate the two longtime allies have not spoken since.

Pelosi has since insisted she did not force Biden out, claiming she merely encouraged him to review internal polling. Still, critics argue the episode highlights a double standard—defending one Democrat while attacking Trump using claims unsupported by facts or firsthand observation.

A Familiar Pattern

For many older voters who have watched decades of Washington politics, Pelosi’s latest remarks fit a familiar pattern: harsh rhetoric aimed at President Trump, paired with selective memory and political convenience.

As Trump continues to campaign on economic strength, border security, and America-first policies, Democrats appear increasingly reliant on personal attacks rather than policy debates—an approach that resonates less with voters focused on stability, results, and accountability.
