Here’s what happened…
Some lawmakers in Congress are now saying that former Vice President Mike Pence may have just “saved” President Biden after it was learned that he too had classified documents stored in his home.
According to The Hill, the discovery of Pence’s classified docs has “complicated” efforts for congressional Republicans on how they will investigate President Biden moving forward.
The discovery of Pence’s classified documents came just as Republicans in Congress began developing a strategy to take down President Biden for possibly risking national security.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham explained, “The bottom line is, I don’t know how this happened. We need to get to the bottom of it. I don’t believe for a minute that Mike Pence is trying to intentionally compromise national security.”
“And so what became a political problem for Republicans is now a national security problem for the country,” Graham added.
“Politically, this makes it difficult if not impossible for the GOP to criticize Biden, w/out damaging Pence; the situations look very similar,” legal analyst on MSNBC Joyce White Vance explained.
Pence’s classified documents scandal is similar to President Biden because both men were vice presidents NOT presidents at the time they brought these documents home with him. Republicans have argued that Trump had more right to have classified documents because he was the president at the time and he had the clearance to declassify whatever he wanted.
