The Supreme Court is doubling down on Biden.

The Supreme Court has just dealt a major blow to President Biden and the Democrats over their latest decision to rule against the Environmental Protection Agency’s plan to excessively regulate over power plant emissions.

This is one of the largest decisions the Supreme Court has made on climate change in over a decade.

According to USA Today, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the opinion for a vote coming in at 6-3. The three justices who voted against the decision were all liberal justices.

This entire case centered around whether or not the EPA has the right to control carbon emissions from power plants.

Justice Roberts dealt a heavy blow to Biden and wrote, “Capping carbon dioxide emissions at a level that will force a nationwide transition away from the use of coal to generate electricity may be a sensible ‘solution to the crisis of the day.’ But it is not plausible that Congress gave EPA the authority to adopt on its own such a regulatory scheme…. A decision of such magnitude and consequence rests with Congress itself, or an agency acting pursuant to a clear delegation from that representative body.”

Associate Justice Elena Kagan who was against the decision by the Supreme Court blasted the vote and said, “The stakes here are high. Yet the court today prevents congressionally authorized agency action to curb powerplants’ carbon dioxide emissions. The court appoints itself – instead of Congress or the expert agency – the decision-maker on climate policy. I cannot think of many things more frightening.”
