Cruz asserted that Harris’s career has demonstrated a pattern of prioritizing interests contrary to American values. “Her record,” Cruz stated, “shows Kamala Harris siding with criminals, drug cartels, human traffickers, and even adversarial regimes like the Iranian government. The funds she allocated to Iran have ended up supporting groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. Her alignment with Communist China is equally troubling.”
The senator also highlighted Harris’s lack of focus on critical issues, noting that her speech barely mentioned China. “This administration has been closely aligned with China from the beginning,” Cruz said. He criticized Harris’s tenure as the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate, noting that her voting record was even more progressive than that of Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren—a feat that Cruz found particularly notable.
Cruz recalled a past incident where Harris compared Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to the Ku Klux Klan, calling it both “grotesque and offensive.” He suggested that Harris’s attempt to downplay or erase these comments did not negate their impact.
The senator also discussed Harris’s role as California’s Attorney General, acknowledging that while the position allows for politically favorable cases, it does not change the broader impact of her policies. Cruz criticized her for focusing on politically popular actions while her broader record, he argues, has repeatedly harmed American interests and security.
