Top GOP Group Dumps Trump For Who?

This is getting messy.

Turning Point USA is a Republican group that has seen tremendous growth since its founding in 2012. The group aims to energize young conservatives, and it has previously held rallies and worked closely with many prominent conservatives including former President Donald Trump and his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

However, in recent months, and following the GOP’s underwhelming midterm performance, there are some Republicans who have been questioning whether the group’s reach has been overexaggerated.

This was especially after the losses in Arizona which was the predominant state in which they worked.

Its founder Charlie Kirk and Turning Point are now facing an even greater problem as they appear to be losing Trump’s support. With Trump’s 2024 primary campaign already having started, some people close to Trump have expressed the former President’s frustration with Kirk’s approaches to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

One of Trump’s advisers specifically noted that Trump was observing the relationship between Kirk and DeSantis following Turning Point hosting a number of rallies across the country for GOP candidates in which DeSantis appeared as the headliner.

Kirk also aligned with DeSantis in an attempt to change the Republican National Committee’s chair from incumbent chairwoman, Ronna McDaniel, to her challenger Harmeet Dhillon. McDaniel had been handpicked by Trump for the position.

One of Trump’s advisers noted that Trump felt like he is responsible for Kirk’s success and that Kirk’s recent actions show that he is “ungrateful” about Trump’s support.
