Trump’s knows what going on at the top level of the Democrat party.
In a recent interview, former President Donald Trump revealed that when he visited Joe Biden at the White House after his decisive victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, the incumbent president blamed former President Barack Obama for the Democrats’ loss. According to Trump, Biden was visibly upset, and when asked who he held responsible for the defeat, he immediately pointed the finger at Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Trump recounted the conversation with the Spectator World, saying, “I asked him, ‘Who do you blame?’ because he was very angry. He looked at me and said, ‘I blame Barack.’” Biden, in his frustration, also blamed Pelosi but had no complaints about Harris, which Trump found particularly noteworthy. “I asked him, ‘What about the vice president?’ and he said, ‘No, I don’t blame her,’” Trump explained.
Obama, who initially supported Biden’s candidacy, had privately begun to sour on his old friend. After Biden’s disastrous debate performance in June 2024, Obama reportedly became concerned about Biden’s mental and physical fitness to continue running. By mid-July, Obama, along with Pelosi, was said to have met to discuss how the Democratic ticket might need to be restructured. Shortly after, Biden dropped out of the race on July 21 and endorsed Harris, but it was clear that the damage had been done. Despite efforts to rally behind Harris, she couldn’t turn the tide in the frantic months leading up to the election, and Trump ultimately claimed victory.
While Biden had acknowledged that party elites, including Pelosi, pressured him to step down, he had previously refrained from criticizing Obama directly. This admission, however, sheds new light on the inner workings of the 2024 Democratic collapse, revealing deep divisions among top party figures. For Republicans, it’s a reminder of the fractures within the Democratic Party and the growing instability of Biden’s leadership.
