They lying, crooked left won’t like this!
President Donald Trump’s administration is setting a new standard for inclusivity by appointing a significant number of openly gay and lesbian individuals to high-level positions. This move stands in stark contrast to the rhetoric from the left, which has repeatedly warned that a second Trump term would bring harm to the LGBTQ+ community. Yet, these appointments demonstrate that Trump is focused on one thing above all: merit.
Trump’s approach to staffing his administration is based on qualifications, not identity. He has selected individuals based on their expertise and the skills they bring to the table, regardless of their sexual orientation. A number of key appointments reflect this philosophy.
For instance, Scott Bessent, who has been nominated as Secretary of the Treasury, could become the highest-ranking openly gay official in U.S. history if confirmed. Similarly, Ric Grenell, a former Director of National Intelligence, has been tapped for a new role as Presidential Envoy for Special Missions. Other LGBTQ+ individuals have also been appointed to high-level positions, including Tammy Bruce, nominated as the State Department Spokesperson, Jacob Helberg, nominated as Undersecretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, and Bill White, selected as Ambassador to Belgium. Art Fisher has also been named Ambassador to Austria.
In total, Trump is expected to appoint at least 10 openly gay and lesbian individuals to prominent roles in his second term, signaling that the President values competence and experience above political correctness or personal identity.
This stands in direct contrast to the dire warnings from LGBTQ+ advocates, who claim that Trump’s re-election would lead to increased discrimination against LGBTQ+ Americans. Critics have even suggested that LGBTQ+ individuals could face persecution or violence in a second Trump term. However, these fears ignore the reality of Trump’s first term, which included several openly gay appointees who played key roles in his administration, such as Randy Berry, Ambassador to Nepal, and James Abbott, a member of the Federal Labor Relations Authority.
Rather than focusing on personal characteristics, Trump has always prioritized appointing the best person for the job. This is evident in the fact that many of his LGBTQ+ appointees, like Bessent, have stated that they were chosen for their qualifications and abilities, not their sexual orientation. Trump’s decision-making process underscores his belief that all Americans, regardless of their background, should be judged based on their abilities and the contributions they can make to the country.
The President’s diverse appointments challenge the left-wing narrative that Trump is hostile to LGBTQ+ individuals. While Democrats have warned of an existential threat to the LGBTQ+ community under a second Trump term, the reality is that Trump continues to build an inclusive administration that values hard work, dedication, and expertise. These appointments demonstrate that his leadership prioritizes merit and equality for all, regardless of sexual orientation.
