This is a complete disaster for the Democrats.

The latest poll conducted by ABC News/The Washington Post indicates that President Joe Biden’s 2024 campaign will face several challenges. These include a historically low approval rating of 36%, as well as a majority of 63% doubting his mental sharpness. Furthermore, the poll shows that his GOP rivals are gaining momentum and strength.

According to the same ABC News/Washington Post poll, President Joe Biden’s position has weakened compared to his performance against former President Donald Trump in pre-2020 election polls. Currently, Trump is ahead by 6 percentage points (44% to 38%) in terms of the number of voting-age adults who would “definitely” or “probably” vote for him in the 2024 election.

The poll also shows that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is currently leading President Joe Biden by 5 percentage points (42% to 37%) among voting-age adults who would “definitely” or “probably” vote for him in the 2024 election.

In the same poll, when asked about the GOP primary question that included six candidates, former President Donald Trump is ahead of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis by a significant margin of 26 points (51% to 25%).

When GOP or Republican-leaning independents were asked an open-ended question about whom they would support, former President Donald Trump was mentioned by 43% of the respondents. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis received 20% of the mentions, while all other candidates received 2% or lower.

In the six-candidate question of the same poll, former President Donald Trump has a commanding lead with 51% of the respondents supporting him. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis follows with 25% of the respondents supporting him. The other four candidates have much lower support: former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Vice President Mike Pence both have 6%, while Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson both have 4%.

It is worth noting that entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who has been performing well in some other polls, was not included as a candidate option in the ABC News/The Washington Post poll.

According to the same poll, 75% of Republicans would be satisfied if former President Donald Trump became the GOP nominee in 2024. Meanwhile, 63% of Republicans would be satisfied if Florida Governor Ron DeSantis became the GOP nominee in the same election.

The poll conducted by ABC News/The Washington Post also indicates that President Joe Biden’s approval rating has hit a new low, with just 36% of respondents approving of his performance as president. On the other hand, 56% of the respondents disapprove of his performance, with a significant portion of them (47%) expressing strong disapproval.

The same poll conducted by ABC News/The Washington Post reveals that a significant majority of 63% of the respondents believe that President Joe Biden, who is 80 years old, lacks the mental sharpness to serve effectively as president. This percentage has increased significantly from 43% in 2020 and 54% a year ago in the poll. Additionally, 62% of the respondents believe that President Biden is not fit physically to be an effective president.
