Some conservatives have found major issue with this.

Former President Donald Trump urged Republicans to change their approach to discussing abortion. Speaking at a campaign rally in Pickens, South Carolina, aired live on Newsmax, Trump emphasized the importance of framing the conversation in a way that empowers pro-life supporters and returns the issue to the states, where many legal scholars believe it should be decided.

In transcript provided by Newsmax, Trump stated, “It’s crucial to know how to approach this and give pro-lifers the ability to negotiate, ultimately shifting the responsibility to the states. This is the viewpoint shared by legal scholars and the majority of people. Now we have the power to negotiate, which we didn’t have before. Those who value life can prevent radical left Democrats from allowing abortions in the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, and even ninth month, as well as after birth. They are the ones with extreme positions.”

He criticized Democrats for presenting the issue differently, asserting that they are the ones with radical views. Trump considered this a significant issue and emphasized that Republicans need to gain a better understanding of it and communicate their stance effectively. He celebrated his accomplishments in advancing the pro-life cause, highlighting the overturning of Roe v. Wade, which had previously limited the power to negotiate.

“The Supreme Court’s ruling last June removed constitutional protections for abortion rights for women. This decision, which was unimaginable just a few years ago, is the culmination of decades of efforts by abortion opponents. It became possible due to a strengthened conservative majority on the court, facilitated by my three appointees,” Trump explained.
