This is not good for the GOP.
In an unfortunate turn of events, it now looks like Hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin who is the largest GOP donor will no longer give money if former President Donald Trump decides to run in 2024.
According to Huff Post, Griffin condemned Donald Trump and said to reporters, “He did a lot of things really well and missed the mark on some important areas. And for a litany of reasons, I think it’s time to move on to the next generation.”
What’s even more problematic for the GOP is that Griffin made things even worse by putting his support behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis instead.
As you know, Trump already fired a warning shot at Governor DeSantis and nicknamed him “Ron DeSanctimonious” but then made things better by telling Republican voters to still vote for him in the upcoming governor’s race.
This is not the first time Griffin slandered Trump in front of the media. Just last year Griffin smeared him and said, “The four years under President Trump were so pointlessly divisive it was not constructive for our country.”
Griffin has donated massive sums of money to the Republican Party for a number of years now. This is going to be a major issue Trump will have to address if he plans on running in 2024 adding to the mountain if issues Trump has to deal with moving forward.
