Trump Chews Out The Lying Media

President Donald Trump is once again taking direct aim at one of the most distrusted institutions in America: the mainstream media.

As the economy faces headwinds and Democrats celebrate scattered November wins, the media has seized the moment to attack Trump from all angles. But instead of backing down, Trump is fighting harder—and millions of Americans agree with him.

Over the last week, Trump intensified his criticism of ABC News, a network long accused by conservatives of pushing partisan narratives. On Thursday, he blasted Jimmy Kimmel on Truth Social and said ABC should face consequences for spreading misinformation. He even questioned whether ABC deserves to keep its broadcast license, noting the FCC has the authority to hold networks accountable when they mislead the public.

Trump’s comments came after ABC White House reporter Mary Bruce aggressively questioned him about hosting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and about the ongoing Epstein file controversy. Trump shut her down immediately, calling her a “terrible person and a terrible reporter”—a response that resonated with many Americans who believe the media routinely twists the truth.

Earlier in the month, when a Bloomberg reporter tried pushing yet another Epstein-related question, Trump pointed his finger and told her to “quiet down,” which the press then predictably spun into sensational headlines.

Trump vs. the Media: A Battle Years in the Making

Since 2016, Trump has made “fake news” a central part of his message. And it stuck—because Americans have seen firsthand how biased coverage shapes public opinion. The press spent years attacking Trump on Russia, impeachment, border security, and now Epstein, while downplaying Biden-era failures that hurt seniors, veterans, and working families.

Media experts note that Trump often pushes back hardest when reporters deliberately misrepresent him. With polls tightening and the economy becoming a top concern for voters, the media is ramping up its attacks—hoping to damage Trump politically before 2026.

But the White House isn’t apologizing for the president’s blunt talk.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt defended Trump’s honesty, saying he refuses to let reporters get away with spreading misinformation.

“He calls out fake news when he sees it,” Leavitt said. “And he expects the media to tell the truth instead of pushing political narratives.”

Epstein Hysteria: The Media’s New Obsession

Republican strategist Shermichael Singleton believes the media’s nonstop focus on Epstein has become a distraction designed to damage Trump.

“I think this is really about Epstein,” Singleton said. “He doesn’t want to talk about it anymore, and the media won’t let it go.”

He also believes Democrats may have overplayed their hand, especially as new information begins shifting public perception. Conservatives say the media is using the Epstein story as a political weapon—not out of concern for transparency, but to score points.

Polls Show What Americans Really Think

While Democrats claim Trump is “unraveling,” the numbers tell a different story—one that should worry the left.

A recent Gallup poll shows trust in the national media is at record lows, with only 28% of Americans expressing any confidence in newspapers, television, or radio. Among Republicans, that number drops to a staggering 8%, reflecting a total collapse in credibility.

This distrust is not caused by Trump. It’s caused by decades of biased reporting, selective outrage, and media double standards.

Meanwhile, Democrats point to Trump’s approval rating—citing a Reuters/Ipsos poll showing him at 38%—but conservatives argue that the real issue is the economy. A Fox News survey revealed 76% of voters view the economy negatively under current policies. Seniors on fixed incomes are feeling the pain most.

And the media still refuses to admit the truth.

A Media Machine Out of Control

Some commentators criticized Trump for taking on reporters during Crown Prince Mohammed’s visit, but conservatives say the outrage is manufactured. The same media that ignores political violence, border chaos, and real foreign human-rights abuses now claims to be worried about journalistic freedom.

Experts at Media Matters called Trump’s remarks “disturbing,” but lifelong conservatives see it differently: the press is panicking because Americans no longer trust them.

Singleton believes Democrats’ strategy could easily boomerang.

“As we’ve seen in the last couple days, Democrats may have overplayed their hand,” Singleton said. “The tides may flip in the other direction.”

The Bottom Line

Trump’s willingness to call out media lies—directly and unapologetically—is one of the main reasons his supporters trust him. When the press distorts facts, Trump confronts them. When networks push fake narratives, he exposes them. And as trust in the media continues to collapse, Trump’s message grows stronger.

For millions of Americans who are tired of biased news coverage, Trump isn’t the problem—he’s the answer.
