The left is so unoriginal and downright dumb.
Former CNN anchor Jim Acosta responded sharply to President Trump’s remarks following his departure from the network. After Trump celebrated Acosta’s exit with a post on Truth Social, Acosta fired back with a social media jab, saying, “Looks like somebody has ADS: Acosta Derangement Syndrome.”
Trump had taken to Truth Social earlier in the day, expressing his approval over Acosta’s move, calling the former CNN chief White House correspondent “one of the worst and most dishonest reporters in journalistic history” and a “major sleazebag.” Trump also noted that Acosta’s new time slot at CNN was relegated to the “Midnight hour,” a fitting critique in his eyes.
Acosta, who had been with CNN for years and became a high-profile figure during Trump’s presidency, confirmed his decision to leave after being offered a less desirable evening time slot. His departure came amidst a series of programming shakeups at CNN, which has struggled with declining viewership. Acosta’s show was replaced by a newscast hosted by veteran anchors Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown.
Despite his departure from CNN, Acosta isn’t stepping away from the spotlight. In a tweet later on Tuesday, he announced his new media project on Substack, hinting at a return to the airwaves with a message aimed at Trump and his supporters: “To Donald Trump and his friends, you may believe you have silenced me … But think again. ‘The Jim Acosta Show’ is coming up next.”
Acosta’s exit marks the end of a turbulent chapter in his career, but it also signals his attempt to carve out a new path in independent media, perhaps aiming to stay relevant as a vocal critic of conservative politics and media figures like Trump. His shift to platforms like Substack shows that while he’s no longer on CNN’s payroll, his brand of combative journalism is far from over.
