Liberals just don’t know the truth.

Former President Donald Trump has asserted that he prevented a catastrophic nuclear conflict through his diplomatic efforts with North Korea. These statements were made during a deposition for his civil fraud case in New York, which has recently been made public.

In the deposition held in April, Trump conveyed to attorneys from the New York attorney general’s office that he regarded his role as highly significant, emphasizing that he perceived it as the paramount responsibility of saving countless lives. He asserted that, had he not engaged in negotiations with North Korea, the world might have faced a nuclear holocaust. Trump additionally stated that, had he not been elected, the risk of nuclear warfare would have been elevated. He even suggested that the current moment could be precarious in terms of nuclear tensions.

In transcript provided by Fox, Trump said, “I was very busy. I was — I considered this the most important job in the world, saving millions of lives. I think you would have nuclear holocaust, if I didn’t deal with North Korea.”

Adding, “I think you would have a nuclear war, if I weren’t elected. And I think you might have a nuclear war now, if you want to know the truth.”

The former president provided this deposition while lawyers delved into the operational aspects of his company during his tenure in the White House. Throughout the interview, Trump maintained that he had minimal involvement with the Trump Organization during his presidency. According to his account, his children assumed greater responsibility for managing the company’s day-to-day affairs. He stressed that his personal engagement was quite limited and that he scarcely participated in matters concerning the company.

Notably, Trump’s meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in 2019 marked the first instance of a sitting U.S. president conferring with a North Korean dictator. Reflecting on this diplomatic breakthrough during an interview in April 2023, Trump reminisced about the initial challenges in their relationship. He referred to his earlier moniker for Kim Jong Un as “little rocket man” and highlighted the tense exchange of threats. However, the situation eventually took a positive turn, leading to a call for a meeting. Trump expressed confidence that, had he secured a second term, he could have resolved the North Korean situation early in his new tenure.
