President Donald J. Trump just delivered another viral moment — this time taking a hilarious jab at far-left New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani during his 60 Minutes interview on Sunday night.
When asked by CBS host Norah O’Donnell about comparisons between himself and the 34-year-old socialist firebrand, Trump didn’t miss a beat.
“Some people have compared him to a left-wing version of you — charismatic, breaking the old rules. What do you think about that?” O’Donnell asked.
Trump smirked and shot back:
“Well, I think I’m a much better-looking person than him, right?”
The audience erupted — but Trump quickly turned serious, warning that Mamdani’s radical ideas would destroy New York City if voters aren’t careful.
“He’s far worse than a socialist. He’s a Communist — and if this guy gets in, New York will collapse faster than it did under de Blasio,” Trump said.
The president reminded viewers of Mamdani’s record of extreme left-wing policies, adding that he once jokingly referred to the candidate as “my little Communist mayor.”
Trump didn’t stop there. He predicted Mamdani would make former Mayor Bill de Blasio — widely criticized even by Democrats — look like a genius by comparison.
“I think he’ll make de Blasio look great. I’ve seen how bad de Blasio was, and this man would be far worse,” Trump said.
The president also made clear that he won’t pour taxpayer dollars into a city run by an anti-American radical.
“It’s going to be hard for me, as president, to send money to New York when it’s being run by a Communist,” Trump stated. “All you’re doing is wasting money at that point.”
Trump’s blunt humor and straight talk once again lit up social media — and reminded Americans why his message still resonates: common sense, strength, and putting America first.
