Liberals are very angry about this genius idea.
In the heart of a pivotal swing state, a small-town bakery has sweetened the 2024 presidential race with a unique twist: cookies. Lochel’s Bakery in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, is capturing the political pulse by tracking sales of their red Trump cookies and blue Harris cookies, which have become a fun and flavorful way for voters to show their candidate support.
As of Friday morning, the results are telling. The bakery has sold an impressive 5,200 Trump cookies compared to just 500 Harris cookies. Owner Kathleen Lochel shared her thoughts on the “Fox & Friends First” program, attributing the strong Trump cookie sales to widespread dissatisfaction with the current administration. “People are definitely showing their support for Trump,” Lochel said, noting that high costs under the Biden-Harris administration have been a major topic of conversation among her customers.
Lochel explained that the bakery has faced its own economic challenges, including rising grocery costs. “We’ve held our prices steady for three years despite the rising costs, but it’s becoming unsustainable,” she said. The strain on the shop has been considerable, but the cookie competition has been a lifeline, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Back in 2020, we were on the brink of closing,” Lochel admitted. “The cookie sales not only kept us afloat but helped us thrive.” The surprise visit from Eric Trump during this time was also a significant boost to their business.
The cookie competition has a track record of predicting election outcomes. Since 2012, the bakery has accurately forecasted three of the last four presidential elections, although their winning streak was interrupted in 2020 when Trump cookies outnumbered Biden cookies by over five to one.
Despite the political undertone, Lochel’s Bakery emphasizes that this project is meant to be lighthearted. Their recent social media post encourages people to “Keep calm… it’s a cookie.” The bakery remains a symbol of community spirit and an inventive way to engage in the political process.
