One of the most disliked Republicans in recent times is now considering a 2024 bid for the White House and wants to run as an independent.
According to The Hill, after losing her Primary to a Trump-endorsed candidate just last month, Republican Rep. Liz Cheney has placed herself into the front of the anti-Trump movement and now is shaping her career to be solely based on stopping Trump.
Now rumors are circulating that Rep. Cheney will run as an independent to harm Trump’s political chances and take away votes from him in 2024. Cheney is basically telling the Republican Party that if she can’t be in politics neither can Trump.
Republican strategist Doug Heye warned, “She’s going to be one of the most prominent voices in politics over the coming years regardless of being in Congress or not.”
Rumors about Cheney running as an independent began almost immediately after she lost her primary election.
Cheney has sworn to keep Trump out of office by any means necessary and that mean running in 2024 is not out the question. Recently Cheney stated, “I’m gonna make sure Donald Trump — I’m gonna do everything I can to make sure he’s not the nominee.”
“And if he is the nominee, I won’t be a Republican,” she added.
Don’t be surprised if you see Cheney running as an independent in the near future. She is going to wreak havoc on the Republican party as long as Trump is in politics.
