Here’s what they are saying.
The mainstream media is now circulating claims made by the Washington Post that allege that former President Donald Trump has asked several top donors to stop giving money to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
According to Insider, the Washington Post is claiming that Trump believes that DeSantis has become his top political opponent heading in 2024 and Trump is concerned about him.
Trump’s endorsement of DeSantis in 2018 was instrumental and without a doubt helped him get elected as the governor of Florida. However, the media is now claiming that Trump believes he has made DeSantis far too strong of a political opponent.
DeSantis is currently dealing with a tough reelection campaign against Democratic gubernatorial nominee Charlie Crist.
Now Trump is allegedly asking a lot of DeSantis’ top donors to cease funding because Trump is telling donors that he could be a major opponent for him in 2024 if DeSantis decides to run.
These claims which the Washington Post published came from an unnamed individual who is said to be tied to the Republican donor circle.
DeSantis has also gained major support from billionaire Citadel founder Ken Griffin who has openly stated that he will not support Donald Trump to run again in 2024.
