The Truth About Trump’s Faith Finally Revealed

Here’s what Christians should know.

In a recent interview, Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York shared his thoughts on President-elect Donald Trump, affirming that Trump “takes his Christian faith seriously.” Dolan, who has had several conversations with Trump over the years, acknowledged that while the president-elect wasn’t raised in a deeply devout Christian environment, he has a genuine commitment to his faith.

During a segment on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, Dolan explained, “I’ve had talks with him before, where he’s pretty blunt about the fact that he wasn’t raised as a very zealous Christian, but he does take his Christian faith seriously.” Dolan also shared a more personal moment with Trump, recalling a recent encounter at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Dolan told Trump, “It was nice to see you somewhere besides Fifth Avenue,” referencing Trump’s high-profile lifestyle and the contrast of their meeting in such a historic and spiritual location.

Dolan’s remarks came shortly after President Trump and First Lady Jill Biden attended the grand reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral, which had been severely damaged in a fire back in 2019. The cathedral’s iconic spire and roof were destroyed, but restoration efforts are well underway, symbolizing resilience in the face of adversity.

In the same interview, host Maria Bartiromo brought up the recent assassination attempts on President Trump’s life, noting how one such attempt in Pennsylvania earlier this year “just missed him.” Dolan reflected on this tragic event by recalling the close calls faced by both President Ronald Reagan and Pope Saint John Paul II. He compared their experiences, recounting that when Reagan met Pope John Paul II after surviving an assassination attempt, Reagan shared that Mother Teresa had told him God had spared his life for a special purpose. Pope John Paul II, who had also survived an assassination attempt, responded, “She told me the same thing.”

Dolan’s comments serve as a reminder of the importance of faith and resilience in the face of adversity, offering a hopeful perspective on President Trump’s spiritual journey.
