Nobody is impressed and it isn’t funny.
For President Trump and his White House, California Governor Gavin Newsom’s latest stunt isn’t leadership—it’s imitation.
All week, Newsom has tried to copy Trump’s social media style, from using all-caps posts to borrowing Trump’s signature words like “beautiful.” He even attempted Trump’s in-your-face confidence when attacking Republicans.
But inside the Trump White House, officials say the act fell flat.
“If Newsom thought he could shake up President Trump, he failed miserably,” one Trump ally said. “Everyone saw it as comical. Let’s be honest—there’s only one Trump.”
Newsom’s California Chaos
Democrats may cheer Newsom’s antics, but Republicans see something else: a failed governor desperate for attention.
Vice President JD Vance, speaking on Fox News, cut right through the noise:
“President Trump’s success comes from authenticity. He’s the real deal. Gavin Newsom is just playing a part—and voters know the difference.”
Republican strategist Shermichael Singleton went further:
“California is collapsing under Newsom’s leadership. From high taxes to radical social policies, his state is the warning sign for America. This is not a model worth following.”
Trump Strikes Back
President Trump, never one to stay silent, made it clear he isn’t impressed.
On Truth Social, he blasted Newsom as “the man who is destroying the once Great State of California” and promised: “I will save California!!!”
Trump also announced that California schools will lose federal funding if they defy his executive order protecting women’s sports from transgender participation. Many saw this as a direct hit on Newsom’s far-left agenda.
White House Sees Flattery, Not Fear
Still, Trump’s allies say they view Newsom’s copycat tactics as a sign of Trump’s dominance.
One White House spokesperson even circulated a meme mocking Newsom as obsessed with Trump, while Trump stays focused on real issues like immigration, the economy, and protecting women’s sports.
“Newsom’s fixation only proves Trump’s influence,” a source said. “It may raise his profile with Democrats, but the truth is California is falling apart under his watch.”
Polls and Political Games
Yes, some polls show Newsom gaining ground among Democrats, placing just behind Kamala Harris as a possible 2028 candidate. But Republicans argue that outside California, Newsom’s radical policies are toxic to voters.
Meanwhile, President Trump continues to lead the national conversation with bold action—whether it’s tackling illegal immigration, cutting waste, or defending traditional values.
Newsom, by contrast, is left playing games on social media.
Trump Gets the Last Word
As Trump himself put it:
“I know Gavin really well. He’s an incompetent guy with a slick line of talk—but he doesn’t get the job done.”
