Here are the facts.
FBI Director Kash Patel, a trusted ally of President Donald Trump, is fighting back after a wave of media attacks accused him of using a government jet to attend his girlfriend’s country music performance in Pennsylvania.
Reports from left-leaning outlets claimed flight-tracking data showed an FBI-registered jet making a stop in State College, Pennsylvania — the same location where Patel’s girlfriend, rising country star Alexis Wilkins, performed at a wrestling event.
But Patel isn’t taking the smear campaign lying down.
“We’re not going to get sidetracked by false gossip or the noise coming from uninformed internet agitators and the fake news crowd,” Patel wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Say what you want about me — but attacking the people doing real work, or my personal life, is absolutely disgraceful.”
He also praised Wilkins as a “rock-solid conservative and a country music sensation” who has “done more for this nation than most will in ten lifetimes.”
Patel added that he’s “blessed” to have her in his life and vowed that he and the FBI will remain “laser-focused on our mission to protect America.”
A Political Hit Job?
Critics within and outside the Bureau have tried to use the travel controversy to undermine Patel’s leadership. Bloomberg Law reported that Steven Palmer, a 27-year veteran who oversaw the FBI’s aviation division, was forced out of the agency amid the uproar.
Meanwhile, former FBI agent Kyle Seraphin — a longtime critic of Washington’s political double standards — accused Patel of hypocrisy for previously criticizing ex-FBI Director Christopher Wray over his jet use.
But supporters of Patel say this is just another media-manufactured scandal aimed at tarnishing anyone connected to President Trump’s America First movement.
Standing Strong Amid the Attacks
Patel, who has weathered intense political storms since taking charge, has faced scrutiny for his handling of multiple high-profile investigations — including the search for the shooter who targeted conservative activist Charlie Kirk, and renewed calls for transparency in the Jeffrey Epstein case.
Despite the pressure, Patel remains unshaken.
“We’re focused on protecting this country and exposing corruption — no matter who it offends,” one FBI insider told reporters.
Bottom Line
This latest controversy looks less like an ethics concern — and more like another deep-state style distraction to damage Trump allies heading into the 2026 midterms.
Patel has made it clear: he’s not backing down, and neither is the movement behind him.
