Ultra-Blue State Flips For Trump

Can Trump actually won over this state? Lets hope so!

Recently, former CNN anchor Don Lemon appeared to be taken aback by the political landscape in traditionally Democratic New Jersey. During a visit to Atlantic City, Lemon engaged with local voters who expressed strong support for former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election. In a video posted on Saturday, Lemon attempted to defend Vice President Kamala Harris, but his efforts were met with skepticism from the voters.

One interviewee expressed clear support for Trump, stating, “Trump for the win,” and criticized Harris, suggesting she was not suitable for a leadership role. When Lemon inquired whether the sentiment was related to her being a woman, the voter clarified that gender was not the issue.

Harris had recently stepped into the spotlight as the presumed Democratic frontrunner following President Biden’s withdrawal from the race, driven by internal party pressures. Another voter shared their dissatisfaction with the current economic conditions, noting, “Four years ago, it was a lot better. I made a lot more money than I do now.”

Lemon countered this perspective by claiming that the economic record under Biden was actually stronger. The voter, however, responded with skepticism, asking, “Do you watch CNN?” This exchange highlighted a significant disconnect between mainstream media narratives and voter perceptions.

Another participant in the video stated their belief that Harris lacked the necessary experience, despite her roles as a senator and vice president. Lemon argued that her background was substantial, but the voter remained unconvinced. A different woman voiced her support for Trump, emphasizing her preference for a candidate with a more robust military background.

Moreover, another voter expressed concern over Harris’ record on immigration and border issues, aligning with Trump’s stance. Lemon’s video concluded with him acknowledging the need to move on from Atlantic City and continue his tour.

In a recent stop in Pittsburgh, Lemon encountered voters who were leaning towards supporting Harris. One supporter praised Harris for her representation as both a woman and a woman of color, suggesting she could connect with a broader demographic.

On a related note, Harris’ campaign recently proposed a federal ban on price gouging for food and groceries to counteract corporate exploitation. Washington Post columnist Catherine Rampell criticized this policy, arguing it could be perceived as federal price controls, which could play into Republican criticisms of Harris and the Democratic economic agenda.

This episode reflects the ongoing political divides and the challenges faced by both parties as they navigate voter concerns and policy debates.
