DeSantis drew a line in the sand.

In a bold move which has been applauded by Republican voters, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has just issued a warning to President Biden and his Department of Justice to not send any federal Election Day poll monitors to any polling booths in Florida or else they would be breaking Florida election laws.

According to Fox, DeSantis told President Biden that his DOJ doesn’t need to get involved in Florida’s business and they will send their own monitors to “ensure there is no interference in the voting process.”

On Monday, President Biden’s Department of Justice said that they were releasing a list of 64 jurisdictions within 24 states where they would send attorneys to “monitor for compliance with federal voting rights laws” on Election Day.

The list issued by the DOJ included Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties in Florida and Governor Ron DeSantis did not allow Biden to interfere.

General counsel to Florida’s Department of State Brad McVay sent a letter to Biden’s Justice Department that they “seem[ed] to indicate” they wanted to place their own monitors in Florida polling stations. McVay told them that it is not permitted and they can’t do it.

McVay wrote, “Section 102.031(3)(a) of the Florida Statutes lists the people who ‘may enter any polling room or polling place’. Department of Justice personnel are not included on the list.”
