Could this really happen?

As many Americans already know, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is very likely to defeat his Democratic opponent Charlie Crist to maintain his governorship for another 4 years.

This means that the next challenge for DeSantis will be to run and win the 2024 presidential election against former President Donald Trump.

During a recent debate against Crist, DeSantis refused to answer if he would finish his full term as governor if he wins. This indicated to Americans that DeSantis is likely considering a 2024 because he would have to resign as Florida’s governor to do so.

DeSantis is arguably the most popular governor in the country and there is a lot of support behind him to run against former President Trump however it looks like DeSantis may now be backing down from the challenge.

According to the Vanity Fair, four prominent Republicans have told them that they believe DeSantis has had a change of heart when it comes to challenging Trump in 2024.

“He’s led them to believe he will not run if Trump does,” one unnamed Republican told them. Another source pointed out that DeSantis is just 44 years old. He has all the time in the world to wait until Trump finishes his second term and launch a presidential run after that.

If DeSantis does not run in 2024 he has two choices: He can finish being Governor for the state of Florida or he can team up with Trump and run as his vice president.

A Trump-DeSantis duo would be unstoppable and the Democrats wouldn’t stand a chance.
