This is outrageous.
In a shocking turn of events, Fox News anchor Eric Shawn outrageously floated the idea to the Fox New audience that former President Doanld Trump may have attempted to “sell” classified documents to either Russia or Saudi Arabia.
Shawn’s comments came with zero confirmed evidence.
According to Newsweek, Shawn recently spoke with former intelligence officer and Russian expert Rebekah Koffler. Shawn began raising multiple questions about what Trump wanted to do with the documents he took from the White House. The Washington Post recently alleged that Trump possessed nuclear documents. These claims have no been verified.
During the interview Shawn stated that intelligence officials were worried that “either the material was being mishandled or even possibly illegally transferred…to others.”
“And more questions are being raised this morning. Did former President Trump try to sell [or] share the highly classified material to the Russians or to the Saudis, or others? Or were the documents innocently mishandled and stored because he thought he had a legal right to have them?” Fox’s Shawn outrageously asked.
Koffler responded, “The real question, Eric, is what Russian President Putin has already done? The truth is the United States is the top target for KGB operative Putin and his spy services.” Koffler then said Mar-a-Lago “is a counterintelligence nightmare, meaning that spies from all over the world—Russia, China and beyond—are always on the hunt to lay their hands on top secret information, especially something that is related to nuclear warfare doctrine.”
Fox News is playing a very dirty game with conservatives right now. They should know to tread lightly before they lose major support from their Republican voters.
