Since when does Trump come second to another Republican?

Scheduled to appear at the California Republican Party’s fall convention on September 29 are Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis, with DeSantis delivering the keynote speech at the dinner banquet while Trump will be speaking at the lunch banquet. This has angered a lot of Trump supporters because they believe that Trump should give the keynote speech.

According to Newsweek, Both Trump and DeSantis are contenders for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, but recent polling suggests that Trump holds a significant lead over DeSantis. A survey conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies exclusively for Newsweek revealed that 51 percent of Floridians believe Trump is the frontrunner for the GOP nomination, compared to only 15 percent for DeSantis.

Tickets for DeSantis’ dinner banquet are priced at $500 for preferred seating and $400 for general admission. In contrast, attendance at the lunch banquet featuring Trump’s speech costs $600 for preferred seating and $500 for general admission.

Jessica Millan Patterson, the chair of the California Republican Party (CAGOP), enthusiastically promoted DeSantis’s appearance in a letter to CAGOP members. She announced, “We are in for a treat on Friday night at our upcoming Fall 2023 Convention, thanks to our confirmed dinner keynote speaker. I’m overjoyed to announce that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will be our special keynote guest speaker on the CAGOP Convention stage at our Friday dinner.”

On Tuesday, the GAGOP tweeted to announce Trump’s participation: “We are thrilled to announce our first confirmed keynote speaker for the CAGOP Fall 2023 Convention: the 45th President of the United States Donald J. Trump.”

The convention will take place at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel from September 29 to October 1.

Recently, during a speech at a barbeque event hosted by a former Republican senator in New Hampshire, Ron DeSantis made a controversial statement saying, “We’re going to have all these deep state people, you know we’re going to start slitting throats on day one.” A recording of the event was obtained by New Hampshire Public Radio.

Moreover, on Wednesday, DeSantis accepted a challenge to a televised debate with California Governor Gavin Newsom during his appearance on Fox News.
