Where will the GOP stand?
In a surprising turn of events, Sen. John Boozman (R-Ark.) is attempting to shut out Trump-inspired primary challengers as his own race narrows down to the wire.
According to The Hill, Boozman received Trump’s endorsement back in 2021 however that has not deterred his political opponents from linking themselves to Trump as well.
Currently, Boozman is facing opponents such as former NFL player Jake Bequette and gun rights activist Jan Morgan.
GOP strategist Robert Coon explained, “I think it probably would be heated because, No. 1, the entire strategy for the two challengers has been to be negative, right, to tear him down, to try to claw their way into the runoff, so that’s what they’ve been successful doing.”
Currently, former President Donald Trump has had several very big wins when it came to his endorsed candidates. Republicans who aren’t endorsed by Trump have been losing left and right and the GOP knows this and many who don’t stand with Trump are worried about their political futures.
Many Trump-inspired candidates strongly believe that Boozman is part of the GOP establishment and simply hasn’t done enough to stand up to the left.
Jake Bequette who is trying to replace Boozman said, “After John Boozman’s 20 years in Washington, our border is less secure, our military is weaker, and our education system is dominated by far left activists.”
