VIDEO: Republican Senator Insults Kamala In Public

Here’s what actually happened.

Liberal critics have seized upon a moment from Senator Deb Fischer’s (R-Neb.) recent swearing-in ceremony, alleging that her husband, Bruce Fischer, snubbed Vice President Kamala Harris by refusing to shake her hand. But what they fail to acknowledge is that Bruce was holding a cane in his right hand at the time, making it impossible for him to reciprocate the handshake.

The incident took place last Friday when Vice President Harris extended a handshake to Bruce after congratulating his wife on her re-election. While Harris appeared to be surprised when Bruce didn’t accept her offer, the full context of the exchange shows he was simply unable to use his right hand, which was occupied with his cane. This didn’t stop liberal commentators from seizing the opportunity to accuse the Fischers of disrespect.

Liberal podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen was quick to criticize Bruce, claiming his refusal to shake Harris’ hand was a reflection of “MAGA” behavior. Similarly, radio host Roland Martin accused him of rudeness, insisting that he deliberately avoided making eye contact or even standing next to Harris. Even left-wing author Don Winslow jumped into the fray, calling Bruce a “pig” for his supposed lack of civility.

However, not everyone on the right was impressed by the encounter either. Some conservative voices, including Newsmax host David J. Harris Jr., took issue with the moment, arguing that it reflected the frustration many Americans feel towards Harris’ policies. But what many failed to recognize is that the entire situation was misunderstood. Federalist editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway pointed out that the viral footage didn’t show Bruce’s hand was occupied, further clarifying the situation for viewers.

For those willing to see beyond the media spin, this was simply a moment where a man was physically unable to shake hands due to his cane, not an intentional act of disrespect. Yet, in today’s politically charged environment, it’s no surprise that this moment has been used to fuel division and controversy.
