Biden’s projects were useless to begin with!
In a major blow to the Biden administration’s radical green energy agenda, President Donald Trump has officially shut down a massive wind energy project that was greenlit during Biden’s final days in office.
The Department of the Interior announced it is reversing approval of the Lava Ridge Wind Project, citing what it called a “misguided and rushed decision” under Biden’s leadership. The project, which would have littered Idaho’s landscape with 231 towering wind turbines, was expected to supply power to up to 500,000 homes—but at a significant cost to taxpayers, rural communities, and the environment.
“Gargantuan, unreliable, and land-hogging wind projects like this do nothing but drain our economy and threaten American energy independence,” said Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. “President Trump is once again putting hardworking Americans and U.S. energy security first.”
The Biden-approved wind farm faced intense backlash from local residents and energy experts alike, who warned that the project would devastate local wildlife, consume vast swaths of land, and deliver inconsistent electricity at inflated prices. Critics argue that it’s another example of the left’s obsession with unreliable green energy, regardless of the cost to rural America.
The Trump administration cited multiple legal flaws in the project’s approval process, as well as new energy policies that prioritize land efficiency and national interest over climate radicalism. One such policy, recently enacted under President Trump, tightens restrictions on wind and solar projects that consume excessive land—effectively halting several large-scale developments pushed by the Biden White House.
This latest move builds on President Trump’s broader strategy to restore American energy dominance by fast-tracking oil, gas, and clean coal development. Since returning to office, Trump has reversed numerous Biden-era subsidies for wind and solar, eliminated red tape, and rolled out accelerated reviews for fossil fuel projects that create jobs and lower energy costs.
Unlike Biden’s costly and chaotic energy experiments, President Trump’s policies are rooted in common sense, economic strength, and energy reliability—putting the American people first.
