Trump DOJ Investigates Ocasio-Cortez?

AOC is in big trouble.

Tom Homan, former acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has once again called out Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for her efforts to assist illegal immigrants in avoiding law enforcement. Homan expressed his concerns in a recent Fox News interview, where he emphasized the seriousness of her actions, which included promoting a webinar titled “Know Your Rights in case of ICE” aimed at educating migrants on how to resist ICE enforcement.

Homan condemned the webinar, which was hosted by Ocasio-Cortez’s office, as a dangerous move that could be seen as obstructing justice. Although the Congresswoman did not appear during the webinar, her office advised individuals not to open their doors to ICE agents unless they had a warrant signed by a judge. Homan argued that such advice encourages illegal immigrants to avoid cooperating with federal authorities and undermines the rule of law.

“The fact that any member of Congress would educate people on how to evade law enforcement is deeply troubling,” Homan said, calling for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate whether Ocasio-Cortez’s actions are violating any laws. He pointed out that the people she was advising are in the country illegally and have been ordered to leave by a federal judge. He added that her actions could be seen as hindering ICE’s ability to carry out its duties and enforce the law.

Homan stressed that while he was not accusing Ocasio-Cortez of directly breaking the law, he did feel it was necessary to ask the DOJ to determine if her actions crossed a line. He made it clear that illegal immigration poses a threat to public safety, and those who defy immigration orders should face consequences.

In a typical response, Ocasio-Cortez mocked Homan’s claims on social media, suggesting he had misunderstood the Constitution and was misguided in his concerns. Despite her dismissal, Homan’s request for a DOJ investigation underlines the growing tension over immigration enforcement and the responsibilities of lawmakers in upholding the nation’s laws. As the debate over illegal immigration intensifies, it’s clear that the stakes are high for both sides.
