The mainstream media is back on the attack — and this time, they’re trying to paint President Trump’s administration as “anti-woman.”
Their latest target? Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
CNN recently aired a sensational segment on Pastor Doug Wilson, a Christian leader from Idaho, accusing him — and by extension, the Trump administration — of wanting to take away women’s right to vote.
Wilson, who cofounded the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC), has long called for America to return to its Christian roots. In the segment, he openly says he’d like the U.S. to be a Christian nation. Other pastors featured suggested voting by households, and one even voiced support for repealing the 19th Amendment.
CNN also highlighted Wilson’s belief that women should not lead in the military or serve in high-profile combat roles — a view Pete Hegseth has echoed in the past. In December 2024, Hegseth said plainly:
“Women in combat roles have not improved our effectiveness or lethality — in fact, it’s only made military operations more complicated.”
The network then pointed to footage of Hegseth attending a service at Wilson’s church — a convenient way to tie the Trump Pentagon chief to every statement made from the pulpit.
But here’s what CNN left out: the real focus of the Trump administration is defending religious freedom and pushing back against what it calls “anti-Christian” bias in Washington.
- February: President Trump signed a groundbreaking executive order to protect Christians from discrimination in government.
- This Year: Hegseth launched monthly prayer services inside the Pentagon.
- White House Action: Trump created the White House Faith Office, led by Rev. Paula White, a cultural reformer dedicated to restoring America’s moral foundation.
For many conservatives, CNN’s framing is just another example of how the left twists faith-based values into “scandals” to discredit Trump and his allies.
The bottom line? This is not about women losing rights — it’s about the Trump administration standing firm for Christian values and unapologetic leadership.
