Will it be Pence?
While we can confidently say that former President Donald Trump will not select former Vice President Mike Pence as his 2024 running mate there is a lot of speculation about who Trump will pick as his next running mate.
Now, New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman is claiming that Trump with either select Republican Senator Tim Scott or Arkansas gubernatorial candidate Sarah Huckabee Sanders as his 2024 running mate.
In transcript provided by RCP, Haberman stated, “There’s a couple of people whose names have been mentioned. The one that actually gets mentioned the most by people closest to him is Tim Scott from South Carolina, the senator, and then Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who is possibly the next governor of Arkansas.”
A lot of Republican voters want Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as Trump’s 2024 running mate however there has been signs of tension between the two leaders. It may not be wise to have two big personalities such as DeSantis and Trump working together so closely in the White House.
But then again a Trump-DeSantis duo would be a fierce team for Democrats to defeat in the presidential election.
