This was unexpected.
In a surprising turn of events, Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was greeted by cheers and people loudly chanting “MTG for VP” at this past weekend’s LIV Golf Tournament at the Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey.
According to the Washington Examiner, Greene said that she was honored by the loud cheers and would without a doubt be open to running as Trump’s Vice President if she was offered the role in 2024.
“I was amazed,” Greene said. Trump insiders have said that Greene is on the short list for people that Trump would nominate as his vice presidential pick.
Greene has been a long time supporter of former President Donald Trump and has even said in interviews, “He is the leader of the Republican Party, no matter what anyone says, he flat-out is.”
Greene later said, “The LIV tournament was so fun. There was music playing all over the golf course. People were having an absolute blast. It wasn’t the stiff, uptight, you know, kind of snobby-type atmosphere at the PGA tournament. It was just flat-out fun.”
It is currently unknown if Trump will actually select Greene as his VP but she certainly is ready to run with him if offered.
