Billions in government waste are finally being stopped under President Trump’s leadership.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) just announced $12 billion in savings after a sweeping crackdown on wasteful contracts and reckless spending.

Kristi Noem Slashes $12 Billion in Waste

DHS confirmed that Secretary Kristi Noem is personally reviewing every federal contract over $100,000. In less than 200 days, she has reviewed more than 5,000 contracts, cutting $10.7 billion in waste and abuse.

“For years, career bureaucrats rubber-stamped massive contracts, fueling fraud and abuse at the expense of taxpayers,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Secretary Noem is fighting for the American people — not special interests.”

Noem said her work has saved taxpayers more than $50 million per day. Cuts include:

  • $1.3 billion by removing useless positions with no safety impact
  • Scrapping outrageous spending like $1,300 Air Force coffee cups

Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” Backs DHS

While cutting waste, President Trump is also strengthening America’s borders. His historic “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” dedicates $165 billion to DHS, including:

  • $46.5 billion for the southern border wall
  • $14.4 billion to deport illegal immigrants
  • $12 billion to reimburse states for border crisis costs
  • New funding for thousands of ICE and Border Patrol agents

“This is a win for law and order and the safety of the American people,” Noem said. “President Trump is keeping his promise to MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN.

Democrats Still Fighting for Waste

Despite the success, Democrats are furious. Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) blasted the reforms, claiming taxpayer accountability “guts programs.”

But the results are undeniable: less waste, stronger borders, and a government that finally puts Americans first.
