Trump wants to thank his supporters.
President-elect Donald Trump is poised to deliver his first rally-style speech since his resounding victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, taking the stage in Phoenix, Arizona, this Sunday. The speech will be part of Turning Point USA’s annual AmericaFest event, one of the largest gatherings in the conservative movement.
Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk expressed his excitement in a recent statement, calling the event the “biggest” AmericaFest yet. “We are extremely honored that President Trump will hold his first rally since the presidential election at AmFest 2024 in Phoenix,” Kirk said. “This is the biggest several-day event in the movement, and this its going to get even bigger.”
Kirk also shared that Trump insisted on calling the event a “Tribute to Arizona,” recognizing the state’s critical role in his victory. Arizona, which delivered Trump a decisive 5.5% margin of victory, has been a loyal and vital part of the Trump coalition. “President Trump knows the people of Arizona have always stood by him, and we are here to show our appreciation,” Kirk added.
Trump’s highly anticipated address will take place at the Phoenix Convention Center on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. local time. The event, part of a four-day celebration of conservative values, comes just one day after Congress passed a stopgap spending bill, narrowly averting a government shutdown.
This move followed intense negotiations in which conservative lawmakers, including Trump allies, criticized a lengthy, 1,500-page spending bill that was seen as wasteful and full of unnecessary provisions. Trump himself had called for suspending the debt ceiling as part of the talks, but his proposed bill—one that included disaster relief for storm-stricken Americans—was ultimately blocked. Despite the frustration, Trump’s influence within the Republican Party remains strong.
In addition to Trump, the event will feature a host of prominent conservative voices, including Texas Senator Ted Cruz, former ICE Director Tom Homan, comedian Rob Schneider, and Kirk himself. Together, they aim to reenergize the conservative base ahead of the 2024 elections, focusing on issues like securing the border, reducing government waste, and protecting American freedoms.
AmericaFest 2024 kicked off on December 19 and will wrap up with Trump’s speech, marking the end of a high-energy, multi-day celebration of American values and conservative principles. The event promises to leave attendees inspired and ready for the battle ahead as Trump and his allies gear up for what promises to be a pivotal election season.
