Trump To Get A 3rd Term?

This has caused major Democrat backlash.

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) has introduced a proposal that could allow President Trump to serve a third term in office, but would not apply to former Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, or George W. Bush. Ogles’ amendment, which he proposed last week, would change the current law to allow presidents to serve three non-consecutive terms, as long as they did not serve two consecutive four-year terms.

Under this new proposal, President Trump could potentially run for another term because his second term was interrupted by the 2020 election. In contrast, Obama, Clinton, and Bush, who served two consecutive terms, would still be ineligible under this amendment.

The amendment would modify the 22nd Amendment, which currently limits presidents to two terms in office. This law was put in place after Franklin Delano Roosevelt served four terms during World War II. Ogles’ amendment seeks to give Trump the chance to return to office, recognizing that his presidency was cut short by the 2020 election results.

Ogles explained that the country is facing significant challenges, including economic struggles and political instability, and believes Trump is uniquely qualified to restore the nation. He argued that Trump’s leadership stands in stark contrast to the difficulties Americans have faced in recent years, particularly under the current administration. Ogles views Trump as the only leader capable of reversing the nation’s decline and restoring its greatness.

Ogles’ proposal is rooted in the belief that the country needs strong, decisive leadership, and Trump’s track record demonstrates that he has the ability to bring about the changes America needs. The amendment aims to ensure that the bold leadership required to secure America’s future remains available to the American people.
