Trump Secures Astounding ‘Double Victory’

Trump wins again.

New federal data shows a dramatic rise in oil and gas activity on public lands, signaling what the Trump administration calls a major win for both American consumers and U.S. energy leadership.

According to figures released by the Department of the Interior, approvals for drilling permits have increased by approximately 55 percent since Donald Trump returned to office last January. Administration officials say the surge is already helping push energy prices lower while strengthening America’s competitive position abroad.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum discussed the findings during an appearance on Mornings with Maria, emphasizing that President Trump’s long-standing energy strategy is delivering measurable economic results.

“President Trump promised to expand American energy production, and that commitment is now translating into lower costs and greater economic stability,” Burgum said.

Records from the Interior Department show that the Bureau of Land Management approved 5,742 permits to drill on federal lands over roughly a one-year period. That total represents a substantial increase compared with the same timeframe under the prior administration.

Supporters of the policy argue that increased domestic energy production helps reduce inflationary pressure across the economy. Lower fuel and transportation costs, they say, can ease prices for everyday essentials such as groceries, clothing, and household goods.

Burgum also noted that energy independence provides broader strategic benefits, giving the United States greater flexibility in dealing with international challenges and strengthening its negotiating position on the world stage.

During the 2024 campaign, President Trump repeatedly pledged to reverse what he described as restrictive energy policies that contributed to higher prices and economic uncertainty. Since returning to office, his administration has moved quickly to roll back regulations and encourage domestic production.

That approach has earned praise from industry groups. Last month, a coalition of conservative organizations and energy advocates highlighted multiple regulatory and fiscal wins under Energy Secretary Chris Wright, including reductions in green-energy subsidies, renewed support for nuclear development, and a more predictable regulatory environment.

Supporters say the results amount to a clear “double victory”: relief for American households facing high costs and a renewed push toward long-term U.S. energy strength.
