What will Pelosi do?
With the new year quickly approaching, more Democrats than previously expected are now announcing their retirement or jumping ship and pursuing other career opportunities and Pelosi now has a big problem on her hands.
Now, according to Yahoo, three more House Democrats announced that they will be leaving their seats by the end of the year. Reps. Stephanie Murphy of Florida, Lucille Roybal-Allard of California, and Albio Sires of New Jersey are all retiring and won’t seek re-election.
This brings the total to a whopping 23 House Democrats who are leaving their seats and won’t run in 2022 giving Republicans a big chance to fill those seats.
What’s even worse for Pelosi is that Republicans only need to gain 5 more House seats to take House majority and Pelosi will lose her role as Speaker of the House.
If the Republicans are able to take the House in 2022, it would most likely result in Republican Kevin McCarthy becoming the Speaker of the House taking away a lot of power from President Biden and the Democrats.
Democrats have tried to pass massive spending bills with complete control and have failed numerous times. If Republicans take the House they will easily be able to prevent Biden from spending even more and increasing inflation to record new highs.
