The House dropped a bombshell!

In a shocking turn of events, the House just passed a bill with 223-204 votes that will bring about a wide-ranging package of gun control legislation and is being called the “Protecting Our Kids Act.”

One key point of this bill could result in the age requirement of being able to buy a semi automatic weapon from 18 to 21.

According to CNN, there were 5 Republicans who voted in favor of this bill and those Republicans were: Reps. Anthony Gonzalez of Ohio, Fred Upton of Michigan, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Chris Jacobs of New York.

Furthermore, the two Democrats who voted against it were: Reps. Jared Golden of Maine and Kurt Schrader of Oregon.

After passing the bill in the House, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “We are on a crusade for the children, and — sadly now — by the children. Children testifying in committee.”

She then added, “America has lost more children from gun violence than any other cause. Does that embarrass you? To think that in our country, more children have died from gun violence than any other cause? These stories are tragically all too common in America today.”
