The GOP has had enough.
In a surprising turn of events, the January 6th Committee has just issued a subpoena to drag House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and four other Republican lawmakers into court to further investigate the Jan 6th Capitol protest.
According to Newsmax, the Jan. 6 Committee is dragging Republican Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio, Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Andy Biggs of Arizona, and Mo Brooks of Alabama along with Kevin McCarthy to court as well.
Furthermore, the committee has been investigating McCarthy’s conversations with then-President Donald Trump that occurred on the day of the riot.
After announcing the subpoenas the Committee said, “These members include those who participated in meetings at the White House, those who had direct conversations with President Trump leading up to and during the attack on the Capitol, and those who were involved in the planning and coordination of certain activities on and before January 6th.”
McCarthy has shared with the media that he spoke to Trump on the day of the riot however he did not share what he said to anyone.
