Judge Threatens Trump and Lawyers

Is the judge showing bias? Some conservatives believe so.

During the beginning of witness testimony in E. Jean Carroll’s civil rape case against former President Donald Trump, a federal judge in Manhattan criticized the content of Trump’s posts on Truth Social on Wednesday, deeming them “completely unsuitable.”

According to the NY Post, prior to the start of the second day of the trial, the 76-year-old former President Trump used his social media platform to assert that Carroll’s case was a “fabricated scam,” while also leveling accusations against her lawyers, whom he referred to as “political operatives.”

Furthermore, Trump also urged for the dress that E. Jean Carroll wore on the day of the alleged rape to be presented as evidence in the trial. Carroll had previously requested this to compare the dress with Trump’s DNA.

Prior to the jury being present, Judge Lewis Kaplan, who had previously decided that Trump’s DNA would not be permitted as evidence in the trial, questioned the ex-president’s lawyer about the social media post, stating that it seemed to be intended for the jury.

Kaplan remarked to Trump’s lawyer, “Your client is basically endeavoring to speak to his public, but more troublesome, to the jury in this case.”

When Trump’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, raised the issue of a leak to the media allegedly originating from Carroll’s side, Kaplan dismissed the argument, stating, “What you are trying to do is get away from a statement by your client that on the face of it seems entirely inappropriate.”

Eventually, Tacopina agreed to speak with Trump and requested that he refrain from making any additional posts about the case.

Despite Tacopina’s agreement, the judge cautioned him that Trump’s posts could potentially lead to further legal problems for the former president.

Donald Trump sparked this controversy after he took to Truth Social and wrote, “They got caught lying! The Miss Bergdorf Goodman case is financed by a big political donor that they tried to hide. Does anybody believe that I would take a then almost 60 year old woman that I didn’t know, from the front door of a very crowded department store, (with me being very well known, to put it mildly!), into a tiny dressing room, and …. her. She didn’t scream? There are no witnesses? Nobody saw this? She never made a police complaint? If I was seen there with a woman-BIG PRESS. SCAM!”
