This was unexpected.
Republican Nikki Haley appears to have taken a swipe at former President Donald Trump while he was campaigning for the 2024 presidential election in her home state of South Carolina over the weekend.
According to Newsweek, Trump spoke to more than 200 people at South Carolina’s capitol building alongside Governor Henry McMaster and U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham.
Haley served as Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations and surprisingly did not attend the event which raised concerns among Republican voters.
Then Haley appears to have doubled down on his disloyalty to Trump and released a video on social media saying, “It’s time for a new generation to lead.”
In the video, Haley can be heard taunting Trump about his age being 76 and Biden being 80.
Haley stated, “And when you’re looking at the future of America, I think it’s time for new generational change. I don’t think you need to be 80 years old to go be a leader in D.C. I think we need a young generation to come in, step up, and really start fixing things.”
