Has there ever been a lawmaker as manipulative as AOC?
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democratic representative from New York and a member of the progressive group known as the “Squad,” dismissed the notion of a dual justice system regarding the Justice Department’s investigation into former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents.
According to Newsmax, during an interview with The Independent, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shared her perspective on the comparison between the cases of former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden regarding the handling of classified documents. She emphasized that there is no valid comparison between the two situations. Ocasio-Cortez acknowledged that she hadn’t finished reading the 49-page, 37-count indictment filed by the Department of Justice against Trump, who recently pleaded not guilty to all charges in a federal court in Miami.
Ocasio-Cortez pointed out the significant amount of documents stored in various locations, including bathrooms and closets, which she believes underscores the Trump administration’s lack of cooperation and deliberate withholding of these documents. She described this behavior as extreme. As the No. 2 Democrat on the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, Ocasio-Cortez argued that claims of a two-tiered justice system made by Trump supporters fail to consider the everyday experiences of minorities who face such inequalities.
She expressed skepticism regarding the notion that a person as powerful and wealthy as Trump could be considered on the disadvantaged side of a two-tiered justice system. Ocasio-Cortez dismissed this idea, emphasizing that it does not align with reality.
Rep. Jamaal Bowman, another member of the “Squad” and a Democrat from New York, shared similar sentiments, claiming that Republicans prioritize the interests of rich, powerful white men over those of marginalized communities. According to him, Republicans are more lenient toward white men, while being harsher on black and brown individuals, even for minor offenses such as jumping a turnstile or an alleged theft of a book bag. He suggested that the Republican party prioritizes Trump’s financial contributions to their super PACs for their own re-election campaigns.
