This was very unexpected.
Former Trump White House official Steve Bannon is sounding the alarm, urging President Donald J. Trump to take aggressive action against tech billionaire Elon Musk over what Bannon calls a direct threat to American national security—and possibly illegal activity.
On his War Room podcast Thursday, Bannon called on the President to invoke the Defense Production Act, seize Musk’s space company SpaceX, and launch a full federal investigation into the South African-born billionaire’s immigration status and business dealings.
“President Trump should act tonight,” Bannon declared. “Sign the executive order. Take over SpaceX before midnight.”
🚀 Bannon: Musk’s Threat to NASA Program Is a Line Crossed
The conflict erupted after Musk threatened to shut down SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft—critical for NASA’s ability to transport astronauts to and from the International Space Station. Bannon called Musk’s actions a betrayal of America’s space program and urged Trump to take decisive action.
“When a foreign-born billionaire threatens a U.S. defense asset, it’s not free speech—it’s sabotage,” Bannon warned.
He demanded the immediate use of the Defense Production Act, a Korean War-era law Trump previously invoked to fight COVID-19, compelling companies to produce ventilators and swabs during the national crisis.
While the law doesn’t clearly authorize the seizure of companies, Bannon believes Trump can act under emergency powers given the defense implications.
🔍 Immigration Investigation? Bannon Says Musk May Be in U.S. Illegally
In a bombshell statement, Bannon also called for an investigation into Musk’s immigration status, claiming the tech mogul may have entered or remained in the U.S. unlawfully.
“I believe he’s an illegal alien,” Bannon told The New York Times. “He should be deported immediately.”
He also called for Musk’s security clearance to be suspended and all federal contracts with SpaceX and Tesla to be frozen until a full national security review is conducted.
⚠️ Elon Musk’s War with Trump Escalates: Epstein Accusations, Impeachment Talk
The public feud between Musk and Trump has exploded across social media and in the headlines.
President Trump told reporters Thursday that he was “disappointed” in Musk, adding, “I’ve helped Elon a lot.” The President’s remarks followed Musk’s online accusations that the Trump administration is covering up documents related to Jeffrey Epstein—suggesting Trump himself may be implicated.
Musk has also reportedly signaled support for impeaching Trump and installing Vice President JD Vance in his place.
In response, President Trump warned he may terminate “billions and billions” in taxpayer subsidies and government contracts Musk currently enjoys through his companies.
💬 Bannon: “Musk Turned on MAGA and Turned on America”
Bannon, a longtime critic of Musk’s influence in the conservative movement, didn’t hold back. He blasted Musk as a “parasitic illegal immigrant” and said the billionaire’s loyalties lie not with the American people but with himself—and with progressive globalists.
“He turned on Trump, turned on MAGA, and turned on the American people,” Bannon said. “Now he’s trying to help the radical Left steal another election.”
He warned that Musk would gladly fund progressive candidates like Hakeem Jeffries if he thought it served his business interests.
🇺🇸 Conservatives Warn: Musk’s Rise Was Built on Trump’s Back—Now He’s Biting the Hand That Fed Him
Bannon closed his podcast with a warning to the MAGA faithful: Elon Musk is not on your side.
“Trump empowered Elon more than anyone. And now Elon wants to destroy everything we’ve built—America First, energy dominance, space supremacy, and conservative values,” Bannon said. “If we don’t act now, it’ll be too late.”
